Componibile was designed in 1969 by Anna Castelli-Ferrieri, it is among the first completely injection molded furniture pieces ever designed; a product fully industrialized. In comes in a range of different colors and sizes, with leaf closures, optional cushions and wheels.
Kartell, the brand, was founded by Guilio Castelli. The Componibile was designed by Anna Castelli-Ferrieri, Guilio’s wife to be. She became intrinsically linked to the company both as a designer as well as its Design Director, and instrumental in bringing such innovative designers to Kartell.
All the it’s history aside, I noticed it around a few design blogs, and again whilst walking around a Italian design exhibition at the Triennale this month. If you squint the olive green colour way even looks a bit like a army grade oil can!
